Everybody Staze...

Gah, okay, well this post is going to be shorter than the one I initially was writing before Safari decided to crash on me. GAH!

Anywho, today at work was sucky. I came to work with all this stuff to do, fix a Vaio, make darkwing accounts for everyone, map out the wireless network… well, the Vaio is hosed and I don’t know how to fix it, the people that I was going to help make accounts are gone today, and the PC laptop I was going to use to map out the network has a crappy battery. So, I should have just calling in today and gone outside to play. BAH! Frisbee sounds like a lot of fun right now.

On a better note, I got to hang out with some people over at Kat’s last night. We played a little Mario Party, sat around, watched most of OfficeSpace, and cracked some of the homebrew that has been in the works for a couple months now (due entirely to Cock and I being lazy). It is pretty tasty, it just has absolutely no head retension… meaning the hops didn’t do their thing. It undoubtedly is probably a lot like beer was in the 1800’s before they figured out what Hops did to the world of Beer.

I got the logicboard for my dead Pismo (Powerbook 200 and/or Powerbook Firewire). I hope to swap it out tonight up in portland when I have little to nothing else to do. It will be sweet to have another laptop to play with. The biggest thing is going to be getting a bigger HD for it. Right now it’s only got a 6gig drive. Also on the agenda is getting some parts that should fix the lousy serial converter that Kilo is using while wardriving. it’ll be a little more janky, but atleast it won’t be relying on a crappy ass Belkin serial to usb converter. What happened to Belkin? anyone? They used to just make cables, and good ones… then they started buying other companies that made crappy products and they put those out under the belkin name. I’m never buying their stuff again after having to deal with their shitty shitty customer support when trying to return a shitty shitty KVM switch. never buy their stuff… you’re just asking for trouble.

As I already alluded to, I’m headed up to portland tonight, I should be there through Sunday. I know I’m going to miss the lan… it sucks, but unlike my dentist appointment tomorrow morning, the lan has not been planned for the past 6 months. ;-P While in Portland I will no doubt be seeing val and eric, so I hope to do some more tweaking to my website during that time. fear not the change… hopefully it will be entirely for the better. I also am ansy to get the pictures and personal info page up, but that will require some current pictures of myself be taken. perhaps I can talk someone into doing that for me.

I plan to link other people’s blogs off my personal info page, though it seems somewhat ironic since I rarely read other people’s blogs. I find it far more interesting to talk to them in person. Seems hypocritical since I’m sitting here typing away in my own blog… but hey, I never claimed to be perfect… just as close as one can humanly come. 😉

All that said, I think I’m going to pack up my shite and head home. I need to get some stuff together and take a quick nap before leaving tonight as to not kill any of the other “innocent” people on the road. I hope to see other friends while I’m there… including one I was supposed to see last time, but I never got around to seeing. I hope I can get ahold of him… hmmm… this presents a bit of a problem. oh well, you don’t need to hear about it.

After me begging, and val accepting, the site has been tweaked a little more. I hopefully plan to impliment the pictures and links section relatively soon. If anyone can suggest something to put on the main page, that would be great. Something that sums me up, or that I can put a counter on, or something. All suggestions, gross or klein, accepted. Another request, how many days should I have displayed on my blog? It was set to 5, then it rolled last night and there was nothing on my blog, so I kicked it up to 7. A weeks worth seems right. btw, check out my new popup webcam. Right now it only works from the blog section of my site since I have yet to change it for the rest… but it’s coming, slowly.

That said, it’s been rather uneventful since the last post. Work has been kinda boring… I just cleaned up my desk (needed it) and at home I’ve been burning a buttload of anime to cd. My machine is litterally full. Mind you, I only have 2 40gig drives, and an 18gig… but I let it get too bad before doing it. And the server is full too. My 12″ is even getting full, but that’s mostly because I’m keeping a backup of a friend’s stuff on there. So bah… I’m not having much fun at home short of burn burn burn burn burn burn.

I went to the coast over the weekend and got to have a good time with everyone. I missed out on going to the Mariners game, entirely due to poor communication between myself and my ride. So that sucked, but overall, the weekend was good. Came home afterward and cleaned the house up a bit… trying to erradicate an ant migration that has appeared in my kitchen since last week. After cleaning the hell out of the kitchen, it seems to have solved most of it. Now I just see an occational one wandering around wondering what happened to the little spills on the floor. Sucker.

Tara has some art headed to Otokon (sp) right now, they’re going to set it up and sell it for her. I believe it’s one of the biggest in the US (topped by AX I’d imagine) so hopefully we’ll see some nice returns on that. The con starts on Friday, so we should know something on sunday or so.

I’m headed back up to Portland this weekend for a dentist appointment. I know I promised LIX I would be at the LAN this weekend, but unfortunately time has not been on my side this summer. Whine all you want Rachel, I’m sorry I don’t see you guys as much as I used to anymore. But I’m working 40hours/week and I keep having to make these trips to Portland, or the Coast, or where ever. I’ll try my hardest to be around the weekend after this one, and effort and energy willing, I want to have some type of get together at my place.

Anywho… not much else to say. I feel good, I feel healthy… my headache went away after beating it and my liver to death with Excedrin (ahhh the power of mixing pain killers and stimulants).

Well, wednesday night, thursday morning. Got back to eugene yesterday night and since then have had both a headache and just been really tired the whole time. Gods, I think it’s something in this damn town. I miss visiting with my friends while I was there. Got to see a friend I hadn’t seen in a long time, glad to see that she was doing well, however single she may be.

The apple classes weren’t bad, the first one was on netbooting, and the second one was supposed to be on ldap and directory access, but the lab didn’t work, so the money was refunded and the class cancelled. but we got some good information during that time.

other than that, I need to finish up my website so it’s the same and that the main www.staze.org doesn’t just bring up “test”.

Damn I’m tired… I think I’m going to go home now… I’m over at LIX with friends, and it seems that there really isn’t that much going on. I’m on my laptop, Kat is sitting next to me rating her music. Someone is over mudding, a few people are making a puzzel, gah. nerd party.
