work is too damn busy.

2003/09/03 By staze

You know… I am starting to long for the days of sitting around Microservices not doing anything. This job is actually starting to piss me off. So now I’m working on discovering a migration issue… but it’s so tediously mindnumbingly boring that I think I’m going to shoot myself in the foot just to watch myself bleed. It’s that bad… probably worse. I am wanting to say “fuck em”… let them live without old mail.

On the life outside of work, it’s okay… though I’m losing several friends for a year or more to overseas. Covert to Japan, Kat to Japan, Val to Austria, and Bonnie to Italy. Then you have Justin going back to Seattle. gar… and a friend from SakuraCon is being antisocial (at least to me), so I can’t say hi to her. On the plus side, Shanna is back in town, so I’ll have SOMEONE to hang out with. Hope that all goes well and nothing too bad comes from this whole new mingling of roommates. Me? I just want to go sleep at this point… I haven’t been sleeping enough… grrrrr….

I’m a slacker, I know.

2003/08/22 By staze

I’m a damn slacker… I let my site roll. Unacceptable… but, considering my lack of modivation to post anything, coupled with the fact that work was really busy this last week, I think it’s somewhat understandable. We’ve been a tad busy trying to make the final steps toward removing our two shitty NT4 servers from the backend of the Jschool system. Ever since one got rolled, and we had to change all the passwords several times, I think it’s about time we got around to doing it.

On a relations note, say hello the latest cynic on the site, a good friend of mine, Kristin. She’s still in shock that I am as much of a geek as she feared and that I really have a weblog. She’ll get over it, but probably not before making some cutting remarks. We’ll say… anywho, “Hello!”.

On the home front, I haven’t been doing much besides burning shit I’ve downloaded off of BT. Oh wonderous BitTorrent…. never had I known thee to be so grand. I’ve been downloading shit constantly and it’s wonderful. Ever since Hotline finally dried up, I’ve been looking for ways to get stuff… this seems to be the answer. But it’s in turn created a huge backlog of stuff for me to burn. Oh well.

I was going to post more at work, but I lost the post… ‘s what I get for using a Beta OS. Oh well… I’ll post more tomorrow hopefully. This shouldn’t happen much longer, Shanna and I are going to make a deal that we both must update our weblogs else consequences shall insue… not sure what those will entail… probably some type of coffee embargo. 😉

See ya’z.

happy 4 day weekend… for me.

2003/08/12 By staze

Hey all,

I’m at work again, blah, but I had an excellent weekend up in portland. Took Friday off so I could be at the dentist in the morning, came home, hung out with my dad a bit, Pressure Washed my grandparents house, made some cash. Got to replace the logicboard in my Pismo, IT WORKS!!! That was fun. $120 for a working laptop that is pretty nice. I rock.

Got together with another friend I hadn’t seen in a while… that was nice. He’s still working and not doing much else, but I hope he gets his ass in gear soon. His parents are getting divorced after 30 years or so. Shame in many ways, but if you knew them, you could probably have seen it coming. At least they made it to the point of their kids moving out. *sighs* I hope they end up seeing where they’re going and don’t act like typical divorcees and hate eachother or not talk. Just makes it difficult for the children.

Also got together with val and eric (hi there!), and that’s always fun. had some alcohol, played some mario party… proved to them that it is nearly impossible to hit a button 100 times in 10 seconds. sure, maybe for the first few seconds you can keep up that pace, but 10/second for that long is quite difficult. *sighs* perhaps I shall just have to practice more. Hell, even a turbo controller maxes out at 78 for 10 seconds. Guess you could pull the thing appart and replace a resistor or capacitor, al la TI-85 overclocking… but still…

I hate winmodems. there, just thought I’d say that.

I got the serial adapters like I mentioned in the previous post. Kilo and I are going to give them a whirl next time we go out wardriving. They both are supposedly supported under linux… so it should all work.

Short of that, I’m just sitting here on my ass not sure what to do. I have a bunch of stuff I should be doing, but like last time, no real way to do it since nothing seems to be working. *sighs* I’ll figure it out.

See some of you tomorrow, see others of you sometime else. I’m happy I just ate… and tonight I’m going to go to a driving range and take out my troubles on little defenseless balls. Ahhh… nothing quite like it.

Oh, btw… the pictures that got sent off to NY. We have only heard about one of them, it (along with 2 others) went to live auction (meaning more than 10bids during silent auction) and it sold for…. $445. The image that sold for that much is: Here. Bet she wishes she would have gone to Anime Expo now. Just think… we could be getting a check in the mail sometime soon for over $1000. And best of all, they don’t take any kind of cut. Ahhh… isn’t profit wonderful? 😉
